One of the core missions of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) is to empower communities with the necessary tools for their development and prosperity.The Foundation organizes numerous projects, initiatives, programmes, conferences and awards to promote common human values among people and societies and foster a culture of hope and positivity. The MBRGI strives to establish the values of cultural and religious pluralism and coexistence, and encourage an acceptance of and respect for differences as part of the efforts to fight despair, radicalism, marginalization and conflict-igniting hate speech. 

Under the Empowering Communities pillar, the Foundation channels efforts to promote cultural and humanitarian dialogue regionally and globally, raising awareness of multiculturalism and cooperation to ultimately create human solidarity in societies. Initiatives within this pillar also emphasise the pivotal role of traditional and digital media in keeping up with societal changes and communicating people’s aspirations. Diverse leadership development programmes are also implemented, with aims to build the next generation of effective leaders capable of formulating future policies and strategies that nurture advanced, stable and prosperous societies.
